On Tuesday, February 22, at 6:30 PM, at the OPEN SPACE of Palazzo Carafa (P.zza S. Oronzo) in Lecce, there will be a presentation of the book ““Imparate dal Sud – Lezione di sviluppo all’Italia” (Magenes edition) by journalist and writer Lino Patruno, former Director of "La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno." This book is a journey through all that the South has managed to achieve against the tide and what it could still accomplish. It is a journey into resistance and resilience, demonstrating how the South is a solution and not a problem.
A surprisingly high-tech South with companies making their mark in the world, featuring headline-grabbing figures and overlooked milestones. With a lifestyle that is increasingly lost and highly sought after elsewhere: the South is winning because it has remained true to itself, and this book is a journey through all that it has managed to accomplish against the current and what it could still achieve. It is a journey into resilience, to prove that the South is a solution and not a problem. It reveals the need for more South, not less.
Engaging in dialogue with Lino Patruno will be Professor Pierfranco Bruni, and the debate will be moderated by Senator Adriana Poli Bortone, President of the Agenzia per il Patrimonio Culturale Euromediterraneo.
Lino Patruno, a professional journalist, has been with La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno since 1966.
