Mehrnoosh Roshanaei was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and currently lives and works in Bologna. She studied visual arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Vienna and Düsseldorf, where she had the privilege of being a student of renowned artists such as Monica Bonvicini, Marina Grizinic, Davide Rivalta and Luca Bertolo.
During her artistic career, she has won several awards, including the Monza Biennale in 2021, the Nocivelli Prize in Brescia, the Zucchelli Prize 2021 and the Young Art Award of the Golinelli Foundation 2020 in Bologna, and the Carapelli Prize at the Milan Triennale in 2019.
Her art is an expression of her identity as an Iranian woman and the complex experiences associated with immigration. Through her work, she strives to challenge preconceived notions
about identity and to highlight the beauty and depth that comes from diversity.
