SUONI DALLE MINORANZE“, an event for the protection and enhancement of sounds‘ of linguistic minorities.
The first National Festival “SUONI DALLE MINORANZE“, will take place on Saturday, May 26, in the splendid location of the Castle of Corigliano d‘Otranto. The event is organized by the comprehensive school of Corigliano, with the patronage of Municipality of Corigliano d‘Otranto, under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, University and Research. Objective of the event, organized by the Ministry of Education is the protection and enhancement of sounds belonging to linguistic minorities.
The event involves bands of the schools of Sardinia, Calabria, Piemonte, Friuli, Veneto, Sicily, Abruzzo, Puglia who have built significant musical experiences in the promotion of minority languages and musical culture
It will also be presented the book “Sounds of the Minorities“, a report on the monitoring of existing musical experiences in the Italian regions also describing the musical belonging to linguistic minorities, edited by Dr Tiziana Senesi.
The event will also be an opportunity for the presentation of POS Matome Grikò community project, funded by the Lifelong Learning Community, aiming at promoting and enhancing the interest and the use of Griko minority language, making its learning easy and interesting through the development of a modern didactic methods and cutting-edge multimedia content and tools applied to language teaching.
Prof. Isabella Bernardini, Scientific Responsible for the Project Pos Matome Griko, will step in to the event with a speech on the folk songs of Greek Salento and their use for the project “Pos Matome Griko, issue, also developed by Prof. Bernardini in an essay included the volume “Sounds of Minorities“.
